Madayaw na adlaw! Today I will hark back good old memories about my hometown of Cateel through the vivid snapshots I compiled from my frequent trips to my birthplace long before it is ravaged by Super Typhoon Pablo. Some of these photos are unpublished; some have already been featured in this blog, magazines and even books. These are my personal treasures I inherited from home. These are the reasons why I have been very proud of my roots, my ancestors and my people. These made me who I am today – a proud son of Cateel. Now struggling to move forward and get back to its old stunning shape, these photos will now be priceless reminders of what my hometown used to be – a quaint coastal town blessed with amazing works of Mother Nature.
…these are postcards from Cateel from The Travel Teller, to you.

Deep in my heart, there is so much hope that one day, in the not so distant future, Cateel will rise again regaining her beauty, repossessing her glory. I know one day, I would be blogging again about my birthplace featuring the new face of Cateel – more beautiful, more picturesque and more enticing than these photographs from home.
This is OLAN FERNANDEZ EMBOSCADO, son of Floriano Castro Emboscado and Leopolda Losentes Fernandez, both proud Cateelenos – sharing these photographs from home to you!

Great shot! I like of Baybay beach, the reflection is awesome. And the sunset photo also is great!
A beautiful tribute of our dear hometown, Olan! These pictures, it once was, so surreal in its beauty. We took it for granted while we are in it and the realization that’s it’s gone made us want to be in it again. I hope this time around all will do their best to protect what people are doing to beautify our Cateel and what mother nature will nurture. Yes, it will take time and effort from everyone but overtime our town will rise again. Keep the focus and the goals alive… for Cateel and Cateelenos.
Hello Tita Esther. It’s nice to hear from you again. Been quite awhile since the last time we corresponded each other. 🙂 Thanks for your comment. I know, like everyone who hails from Cateel, we all pray and hope that in the not so far future, our hometown will come back to its beautiful shape or even better than what it lost. 🙂 Yes, it will take time but I guess it’s worth the wait. 🙂 I am looking forward for her REBIRTH. 🙂 These photos will serve as memoirs of our yesteryear and guide to bring back her beauty, the sooner, the better. 🙂 God bless us all Tita Esther. 🙂
Ang ganda grabe!!! I cannot believe it was devastated by a typhoon.
Salamat sa postcards. How I wish I can see Cateel for the real thing.
You are so blessed to belong to ths place!

Baybay Beach is also perfect for skimboarding. 🙂 I will be bringing my friends there soon to experience Baybay’s untainted allure. 🙂
